VACUETTE® Urine collection system

Urine is the most frequently examined body fluid, as a result, there are a number of different analysis that can be performed in regards to urine samples. Not only for Urology and Nephrology, but also for special diagnosis, assessment and therapy of metabolic and hormonal disorders as well as poisoning and various other organ disturbances.

The right collection method as well as secure transport and the conservation of the sample are the principal requirements for test success.

Vacuette Urine Sets from Greiner Bio-One consist of a sterile urine beaker, sterile evacuated plastic tube and a transfer device. A set allows the direct transfer from the collection beaker to the vacuum tube. The user will not encounter spillage problems due to unscrewing caps and recapping them.

All tubes can be utilised for both transportation and analysis. The range consists of sterile conical and round based tubes, with or without preservatives depending on the intended use. All tubes are standard sizes with volumes of 4 ml and 10.5 ml.

The urine and any blood which can be potentially infectious in the sample substance is fully contained within a closed, sterile system; thus the risk of cross-contamination of patient and personnel is minimised.

All Greiner tubes, including Urine culture tubes are manufactured with a safety cap.
